IN OUR LEARNING

We've continued to be very busy in our learning over the past couple of weeks! Whilst there have been quite a few disruptions with Curriculum Days, Public Holidays and Swimming, we have tried our best to maintain routines where possible.

Reading: We have continued exploring Paul Jennings short stories, analysing the author's specific style and how he achieves this. We have drawn comparisions between the books and their interpretations as episodes of Round The Twist.

Writing: We have completed our Persuasive Writing and have moved on to Narratives to finish of the year. We hope to incorporate all of the elements we have focused on throughout the year to develop our best pieces of writing yet!

Maths: In Maths, our number focus has been on Multiplication and Division, specifically looking at the column multiplication and long division strategies. Within this unit we have also completed daily mental Maths tasks to build our speed and accuracy with times tables and understand the relationship between multiplication and division facts!

Our other Maths unit has been probability. Students have familiarised themselves with the language of chance, considering possible outcomes from chance experiments and understanding how to represent these as fractions, decimals and percentages.

SWIMMING

We have completed our first week of the swimming program and it is safe to say that this has been a huge success! Our students have shown excellent organisation and cooperation at the pool, which has resulted in really positive learning experiences! We look forward to finishing this off this week!
