Principal's News

Mr Brian Anderson

Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

Colour FunRun

I would like to begin this newsletter by expressing my heartfelt gratitude to the many families who contributed to the success of our inaugural school fun run. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we raised over $41,000—a phenomenal achievement! More importantly, the event was a joyful celebration for our entire community, particularly the children. Witnessing the delight on their faces truly reminded me of the reason I do the work I love.

Special thanks go to Mrs. Scullion and our staff for their meticulous planning and execution of the day. I also wish to acknowledge the hard work of our dedicated parent volunteer and especially Marguerite, Maya, Livia, Jennifer, and Rosa—whose behind-the-scenes efforts played a significant role in the event's success.

Looking ahead, the fun run will become our main fundraiser for next year. The funds raised will go towards completing the primary playground with new AstroTurf and a running track for the children to enjoy. Once this project is finished, we will turn our attention to the infants' playground. My vision is to replace the current mulch, which is unsightly, with astroturf and soft-fall surfaces. I will meet with the SRC (Student Representative Council) soon to gather input from the children about their preferences for climbing frames or slides. The SRC will also consult their classmates for additional ideas and suggestions. Please note that we must adhere to WHS (Work Health and Safety) legislation, which may limit some of our choices for equipment.

Parent pick up at lunchtime and recess

Please do not request that your child be collected during recess or lunch.  As you would appreciate, the office is very busy at this time and being able to attend to any medical issues is my secretaries first priority.  The office staff can not leave the office to collect children.  I thank you in advance for your support in this matter.

Pets on School Grounds

A friendly reminder: pets are not allowed on the playground under any circumstances.

This policy ensures the safety and comfort of all students, especially those who may have allergies or fears. Please also refrain from bringing pets near the school gates during dismissal to ensure a safe environment as children exit.

Carols by Twilight

Our annual Carols by Twilight event will be held in the new playground on Thursday, 5th December. This festive evening is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together. Each child will receive an icy pole to enjoy on the night. We hope to see you there!

Leadership Planning Day

Next Thursday, 28th November, I, along with our leadership team, will attend a strategy and planning day for 2025-2026 at the Sydney Catholic Schools office. During our absence, Mr. Tony Boyd will serve as relieving principal.

Enrollments for 2026

We are already receiving many applications for Kindergarten in 2026, with several siblings of current students expected to join. To assist with planning, we kindly ask families to complete and submit application forms as soon as possible. This will greatly help Fiona, Rhodelia, and myself in preparing for the future.

Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. Wishing you a wonderful weekend with your families.
