A Note from the Board Chair
Board members Ally Osborne, Paul Bouma and Steven King are heading off to the National Godly Governance Conference being held in Melbourne this weekend. The agenda looks interesting covering topics like Board Safety Responsibility: from Child safety to psychosocial safety, Boards and safety standards, governance and leadership and they will have the opportunity to hear shared learning/stories of Christian School Boards from around the country. It is our hope these Board members are blessed and return to us to share great insight into the current risk factors and considerations for school Boards. We thank them for taking time away from their families to attend this training and conference and for the continued support of their families.
It is with sadness that the Board announce the resignation of member Nicole Nyhouse. Nicole has been a faithful servant of the Board and will be missed. Nicole will remain a member of the Association. She has consistently demonstrated her 'rusted on' support and love for Christian education, particularly at MECS. We thank her for her unique contribution.
As we get to the pointy end of the year, there is still much for the Board to do. Our main task is to settle on and approve the final budget for 2025. This will be done at the December meeting. Once the final government funding figures are available, the budget can be moved from Draft to Approved with any necessary amendments being minor from what was presented to the Association at the EGM in October.
As a Board we ask you to join us as we continue to pray for our school, its mission to serve the King and for us people as we endeavour to serve as the Lord’s hands and feet in education until He comes again.
