To finish off the year and for the qualifying journey element of their Duke of Edinburgh award, the Year 10 Outdoor Education class headed out on a 3 day experience to Allenvale Mill Bush Campground near Lorne. In preparation for camp and in order to hone the skills they have learnt through the year, the students took a leading role in planning for the camp through organising activities and communicating/booking this experience along with preparing the routes for their hiking adventures. Through experiencing snorkelling on day 1, 20km+ hikes for each group on day 2 followed by a stop via the You Yangs on the way home, many of these students stepped up and demonstrated the high level of abilities in planning and it was great to see the students enjoying their time together out in Gods creation.

On Friday 25 October we had a lovely time of celebration as a school community, honouring our Year 11 students as they stand on the brink of adulthood. We enjoyed a lovely three course meal at Karralyka Centre in Ringwood and were treated to the student's performing three progressive ballroom dances for us through the evening.
Our students had been preparing throughout the term at school by participating in some professional dance lessons. In addition, we were also blessed to have our 2nd Year VET Music students, Noah P, Max D, Spencer N, Chi K and Isaac C, entertain us with their musical talents. The Year 11 students shared some personal reflections via video. These included responding to prompts such as favourite memories, quotes, people that inspire them and hopes for the future. Michelle Dempsey inspired them with a beautiful message, encouraging them and at every moment in their lives, no matter what direction they take, that they remember that they have been chosen for "such a time as this" (reflecting on the book of Esther) by God to fulfil his greater purpose and plan. They are part of a bigger story.
The night ended with some free dancing for students and guests. There was a wonderful sense of unity, inclusivity and joyfulness throughout the evening.

Our VCE VM Class have been presented with the opportunity of creating a project that helps out the community. Here, Alex and Caleb have put together an instructional video that can help you maintain your car! Including how to change your flat tyre, how to lookout for dashboard warnings and checking engine oils. We hope you enjoy it and learn something new!

''O' Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?”
Love and death, tragedy and reconciliation. Who else but the famous Bard could entwine these themes in such a captivating way?
In Year 10 English we have been studying Shakespeare's famous play, Romeo and Juliet. Anyone who is an admirer of Shakespeare will recognise that he wrote his plays to be acted. For it is through acting that plays like Romeo and Juliet can be best appreciated.
Last week, in a variety of settings where we lay our scene, the three English classes performed the fast-paced extravaganza. The new mutiny, where such and such fought such and such again broke forth, due to the ancient grudge. Our pair of star cross’d lovers, with high-pitched voices, wigs and dresses, from both the females and males, unfortunately took their lives.
A highlight for teachers was seeing students rise to the occasion and use their God given gifts in both humorous and entertaining ways. It was clear that students felt a degree of safety and confidence with each other that allowed them to perform in an uninhibited way.
The ideas of life coming through death and reconciliation through forgiveness remind us of Jesus and the life he offers to each of us.
