Principal's Report

Rohan Cooper

As we move through the first week of December, our school remains a busy place. We have been delighted to observe the new shade sails be constructed across this term, and what great timing for them to be ready for our end of year picnic last night. Last night itself was a wonderful celebration and a huge thank you, as always, to our PA President Jess Tuszynski, and all of our volunteers on the night.

This week I have shared with our community the class structure for 2025. Today I would like to further share our staffing placement for 2025.

We are excited to be sharing this team with you and are confident that they will provide the best possible environment for learning and wellbeing.

We will be farewelling some current staff at the end of this year. Prudence Herron and Zoe Whittaker will be taking twelve months of leave; we look forward to their return in 2026. We wish Stephanie Drew all the best, as she takes off on some travel and new opportunities in 2025. We wish Ebony Barber, Carina Rogers, Corey Posner, Matthew O’Connor and Lauren Elvin all the very best and thank them for their work this year. We congratulate David Mackay, who has successfully gained a position as a Learning Specialist at Coatesville Primary School. This is a great leadership opportunity for David and we know that he will have great success in this role.

We will also be farewelling Maria Amitrano, who will be transitioning to retirement. Maria has had a long and distinguished career at Caulfield South Primary School, and more broadly as a teacher in the Department of Education. Whilst Maria has had an incredible impact on her students across her time at the school, she has also been highly valued for her work as a leader and mentor to our teaching staff. We sincerely thank Maria for her wonderful contributions and we wish her all the very best for the next adventures that await her.

On Monday, our new staff will join our returning staff for a 2025 planning day, where teams will collaborate to plan their learning and wellbeing programs for Term 1. Please remember that this is a student-free day (with Team Kids running a program throughout the day for those who require it).

On Tuesday, our students will meet their teachers and classes for 2025. As I shared in the communications earlier this week, I would like to acknowledge that the process of forming classes is a complex and thoughtful one, and I deeply appreciate the tireless care and consideration our staff have put into this task. It is important for families to trust in this process. We kindly remind everyone that placements are now finalised and families should refrain from contacting teachers, the office, or school leaders with requests for changes.

Last year, our community embraced this process with understanding, and we are confident this year will be no different. We appreciate your support and cooperation as we focus on preparing for an exciting year ahead for all students.

Thanks for your ongoing support and keep doing your best.

Rohan
