Child Safety and Wellbeing

Child Safe Information

St Brigid’s College holds the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people as a central and fundamental responsibility. Central to the mission of our Catholic schools in Horsham – St Brigid’s College and Ss Michael & John’s Primary School - is an absolute commitment to fostering the dignity, self-esteem and integrity of children and young people and providing them with a safe, supportive and enriching environment to develop spiritually, physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially.

Embedding Child Safety in our North Wing Refurbishment

Child safety in school spaces means crafting both a physically and emotionally secure environment that minimises risk and fosters well-being. Stage 1 of our North Wing Refurbishment project will be complete and open during Term 3. Stage 1 of the project includes a brand new Food Techology space to cater for growing cohorts and their subject choice, and new student amenities, which will be a welcome refresh from the previous original toilet blocks. Stage 1 also includes a student cafe which will offer a welcoming hub where students can gather, chat and relax. This not only nurtures peer connection and belonging but also gives students a sense of ownership over “their” space.

Stage 2 of the project, which will be complete and open at the beginning of 2026, includes refreshed First Aid facilities and brand new Student Wellbeing space. Students will have discreet and comfortable access to support, and our Wellbeing staff will have the ideal working environment to deliver support and care to every student.

All of our policies, including the Safeguarding Children and Young People Code of Conduct, can be found the Policies page on our school website. You can contact the Front Office if you have any queries, or would like to provide feedback, relating to child safe practices, or any other matters.
