Co-curricular

Official Start and Thank You
After a month-long, informal transition into the St Patrick’s College community, this week marks the official start of my role as Director of Co-curricular.
I would like to sincerely thank Mr Adrian Byrne for acting in the role since the beginning of the year. Balancing any additional responsibilities alongside those of Deputy Principal is no small task, let alone taking on another leadership position. His work with, and support of, our staff has been invaluable.
Since my appointment was announced, I’ve been genuinely humbled by the warm welcomes extended to me – though not entirely surprised, given St Pat’s strong reputation for authentic community. Thank you.
My wife and I recently had the pleasure of attending Alex in Wonderland, a wonderfully entertaining production, and a fitting introduction to the vibrant performing arts culture at the College. It reinforced the significance of the arts in shaping Co-curricular life and enriching student experience.
On the sporting front, it has been pleasing to see the reports of success and spirit on display. Congratulations to our 14As and 16As Rugby teams for finishing first in the Division 1 regular season and helping secure a third place overall school standing in the lead-up to the Term 3 CAS/ISA Combined Competition. This performance places St Patrick’s in the Division 1 tier, where they will compete against the top three CAS schools. I look forward to supporting the Football and Tennis programs for the remainder of their season, as well as the wide array of sporting opportunities available to students.
I am especially eager to be part of the upcoming cultural events that continue to showcase the diverse talents of our students and the way these pursuits help shape school identity. The dedication behind the scenes in all areas of Co-curricular culture life is clearly evident and greatly appreciated.
