Assistant Principal Message

From the Assistant Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

One Wave Incursion

Today our students participated in a Mental Health incursion which helped raise awareness of mental health and the importance of this issue.

Students were asked to dress in fluro or their brightest colours, and participated in One Wave's Free the Funk program that is specific for Primary Schools.

We know early prevention, connection, and conversations save lives, so the program aims to bring colour to mental health and share tips and tools that young people can use throughout their lives.

We are so thankful to the team for bringing this to our school and shining a necessary light, and we encourage all parents and carers to ask their children about this very important part of their day.

For more information on One Wave, or to join in on one of their Fluro Friday sessions that are held at local beaches please click here.

We kindly remind you about a few administration matters that assist our school office in running smoothly.

Late Arrivals

If your child is being dropped to school after 8.50am it is required that parents accompany their child into the school office and sign the student in to school via the compass kiosk. This will allow a late pass to be printed and this is then taken to the class teacher to account for their late arrival.

Students should not enter the school grounds after 8.50am unaccompanied and your co-operation in following this procedure is greatly appreciated.

Application for Extended Leave for Students

If a student is taking more than 5 days leave outside of the school holidays parents are required to submit an application for extended leave form- 'Student Extended Leave Form'.

This form can be found on the Compass parent portal in the School Favourites section that is the star on the bar at the top.

Once the form is completed, please forward it to the school office and attach a copy of the flight itinerary for the upcoming trip. Within 3 days Mrs Rose will sign the form and it will be returned to your family to carry with your passports.

A Beautiful Act of Kindness

We are incredibly proud of our Year 6 student, Emma, who recently donated her hair to Wigs for Kids—a charity that supports children experiencing hair loss due to alopecia, cancer treatment, or other medical conditions.

After spending months, year even, growing her hair with love and care, Emma made the generous decision to give the gift of confidence and comfort to children in need. Her selfless act is an inspiring reminder of the impact one person can have on the lives of others.

Well done, Emma! Your compassion and courage are truly admirable.

Below is how it works and we encourage you all to download the app and get snapping! From fixing swings and moving branches, to mapping flood zones and the tiniest of street libraries, with your help, the right people are always in the know.
