With heavy hearts, we came together yesterday to mourn the death of our beloved teacher, Veronica 'Ronnie' Williams. The recent loss of her presence has been deeply felt by studen
ts, colleagues, and friends alike.
Ronnie was more than just an educator; she was a friend, a mentor and a guiding light to so many within our school. Her 34 years of dedicated service in Catholic Education including the past 14 years Ronnie spent at St Francis Primary, demonstrated her passion for teaching and her unwavering commitment to education.
The outpouring of love and support shown at Ronnie's funeral was a testament to the profound impact she had on those around her. As we gathered to celebrate Ronnie's life, we were reminded of the countless lives she touched and the legacy she leaves behind.
We extend our deepest condolences to Ronnie's family during this difficult time, husband Ritchie, children Bec and Lachie, along with Ronnie's extended family. May they find solace in the knowledge that she was cherished and admired by all who knew her and now finds eternal rest in the Kingdom of Heaven.
We thank our wonderful St Francis school families, Sandhurst Catholic Education and members of the local community after they expressed their condolences to us and provided thoughtful gestures. Thank you to our school families for your assistance on Tuesday - we appreciate all the kind words and actions.
May Ronnie Rest in Peace.
Friday 23rd Feb is a Pupil Free Day
Learning Conversations will be occurring throughout the day and students are to attend with parents for their booked times - bookings through PAM.
We celebrated our Opening School Mass with St Mary of the Angels on Thursday and inducted our new 2024 school leaders during the ceremony. We had Grade 6 School and House Captains receive their badges, which are a symbol of the leadership role they are undertaking this year. Congratulations to all our leaders for 2024.
The modified routine of playing first, then eat after recess is working very well. Early indications are showing that children are more calm when eating, are eating more after the recess break and ready to learn. We will continue with this change for the remainder of the year.
We are seeking volunteers to be part of the School Advisory Council.
If you are interested in helping shape the direction for St Francis Primary, please contact me in the office.
The School Advisory Council has input into the strategic directions of the St Francis Primary school and discusses opportunities to enhance student and family engagement, develop master plans and promote our school to the wider Nathalia community. Meetings are held termly in the administration building.
