Supporting those in need

FareShare community support

On Tuesday 28th of November, some of our lovely Year 9 students were given the opportunity to support FareShare. FareShare is a charity which prepares free, nutritious meals for people doing it tough. Across the day, our students and staff supported their efforts by:

  • Cutting 50kg sweet potatoes, 30kg swede, 30kg broccoli, 45kg tomatoes and 20kg carrots
  • Mixing meals
  • Washing dishes
  • Folding aprons and tea towels
  • Weighing and decanting butter
  • Assembling and packing 220 rice and curry meals
  • Cleaning and resetting the kitchen

As always, the students were brilliant, representing the school beautifully. A big thank you to Ms Watson, Ms Godfrey and Mr Cross for organising this experience. It is opportunities such as these that help develop caring, empathetic and empowered young adults who go out in the world motivated to make a positive impact on others.
