VHAP
Each term a number of our Year 5 and 6 students are chosen to participate in the Victorian High Ability Program. These students are chosen by the Department of Education based on their results which include their marks in their semester reports, NAPLAN, and PAT tests.
Ally C, our 2024 School Captain, participated in the VHAP English program in Term 4 last year. Her work has been selected from all of the VHAP students around Victoria as an exceptional piece of work.

I AM A TREE
I am a tree, standing tall and proud,
my thick branches touching the clouds.
My leaves, a symphony of rustling greens,
dancing in the breeze, whispering unseen.
My roots, like veins, entwined and strong,
nourishing my being, where I belong.
Throughout the seasons, I stand steadfast and true,
a silent witness, watching the world anew.
Spring's gentle touch awakens life anew,
blossoms unfold, a vibrant hue.
Summer's warmth bathes me in golden light,
a symphony of colours, a dazzling sight.
Autumn paints me in fiery hues,
leaves ablaze, farewell summer's muse.
Winter's slumber blankets me in white,
a silent slumber, waiting for the light.
Through the passage of time, I will stand tall and grand,
a guardian of the forest, in this verdant land.

Congratulations to 4OK and 4MP who got to keep the Nude Food trophy in their room.
School Pride
4MG and 3DP began our School Pride last week. A huge thank you to the students from both of these classes who headed out to tidy up the area inside the cage housing our water tanks.
4OK helped with some of the oval clean up after the big storm we experienced last Tuesday.
NAPLAN Practice Test Dates
In preparation for the 2023 NAPLAN tests the Year 3 and 5 students will be involved in the NAPLAN Practice Tests. These will be held in Week 5 (Tuesday 27 and/ or Thursday 29 March)
The Practice tests;
- allow students to become familiar with the online portal and the look of the tests and the types of questions
- gives us, as a school, the chance test our own capabilities for running the test and allows us to detect any possible technical issues
Parents you are also welcome to access the NAPLAN Public Demonstration site if you would like to do some extra practice tests.
