What have our Teachers been up to?

Professional Learning

Teachers this term have engaged in professional learning focusing on ‘Assessment to Maximise Learning’. With assessment being the bridge between teaching and learning, teachers signed up to staff-led workshops and lesson observations to improve their practice.

Staff worked collaboratively to design quality assessment and created opportunities to work closely with students to identify together gaps in learning and develop strategies to prepare students for assessment success.

Staff have also embarked on their Professional Learning Communities (PLC) journey. Based in small teams, teachers are supported to undertake an inquiry cycle of professional learning directly in response to the needs of their students, including peer observation, reflection and feedback in PLC teams.

University High School is creating a culture of working collaboratively to continuously improve teaching and learning. We are improving our practice which leads to better student learning experiences and outcomes.
