TERM 1, Week 2
WOW!! What a wonderful start we have had to our learning journey. We are so proud of the students' efforts in following the morning routines and completing each job before the learning day begins.
We have learnt and are still practising how to be focused listeners. We show the whole body listening using our brain, heart, mouth, body, head, legs, eyes and ears. The students made some fabulous listening ears to help them listen to their teachers.
This week we started Investigations. During this time students participate in play-based learning, which incorporates imaginative play, fine motor skill practice, construction and discovery.
Last week we visited the Church with our Buddies in preparation for the Beginning of School Mass. We learnt about the different parts of the Church and practised how to behave reverently while we are there.
Today your child has been given a buddy bear from their year 6 buddies. This is part of our buddy program and it is for them to keep
REMINDERS:
In the students reader pockets you will find two laminated sheets. These are our focus camera words and phonemes we will be learning this term. Camera words are words that you cannot sound out, you need to take a picture of them in your mind. Phonemes are the sounds the letters make. These are to stay at home for students to practise every night when they read.
Thank you
