Caring Learning Growing: Every Child Every Day

Dear Families,

All I can say is WOW!

It has been a fantastic start to the 2024 school year. I walked through the learning communities on Monday to see children engaged in their learning and clear routines already established.

The commitment from staff to ensure spaces were set up for learning and how our children have started their learning journey is lovely to see and a credit to staff and children.

I also thank our Admin staff, Jane and Anna, who do an incredible amount of work behind the scenes to ensure the year begins smoothly.

Linda also has the library ready so our children can borrow books and readers.

Our new grounds and gardens man, Dan Smith, has worked hard to prepare the yard for the children.

I also look forward to the year ahead, working alongside Lisa Glatz. A fun fact is I was Lisa's mentor when she came to do a placement as a pre-service teacher quite a few years ago.

Thanks to families for collecting children at the end of the day before 3.40, as requested in the letter that went home last week. This means staff can attend after-school meetings on time and attend to their preparation for the following school day.

A reminder for families to come to the gate to collect their children, please.  There are a lot of vehicles around, and our children's safety is paramount.

Thanks so much to those families who joined us for our picnic tea last night. Seeing so many families and the children enjoying their play together was lovely.

And, of course, the warmest of congratulations to our Grade 6 children and the announcement of the leadership positions. We have the most incredible leadership teams, and I look forward to working with them across the year.

Next week looks like a busy school week, so please check the calendar of events. Please remember to book for Get to Know You meetings.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Louise
