Student Learning

Learning and Teaching

If you were to walk around the school, you might think we were well into term 3, not week 3! Overall, students have adjusted to school routines, are working collaborativley and doing their best to expand their knowledge and put their new skills into practice. Take a look at some of the engaging learning taking place at Trinity this week.

Speech Pathology for Schools

This is our fifth year of partnering with Speech Pathology for Schools to provide support in the areas of speech, language and literacy. We recognise that some students benefit from support from specialists in small group or in a one to one intervention settings in addition to the wonderful work happening in the classroom. This year we welcome speech pathologist, Gloria Raynes who will be assisting staff and working with students in assessing, teaching and monitoring these essential skills.

Have a read through the first Speech Box for the year that addresses the advantages of talking about your day with your child to support their story re-telling skills.

Parent Chats

It was wonderful to see so many parents in and around the school last Thursday afternoon for Parent Chats. Teachers appreciated the valuable information shared, so they can support your child/ren for the year ahead.  We know that collaboration between parents and teachers goes a long way in fostering children's learning. It is more likely that your child will be motivated to learn and be positive about school when you are engaged in their education. Therefore, we encourage all families where possible to attend school events, take an interest in school and home learning activities and regularly communicate with teachers.

Learning Events/Opportunities in Term 1

Home Learning Commences (Week 3 - Monday 12/2)

Parent Helper Workshop (Week 6 - 6/3)

NAPLAN - Year 3 and 5 (Weeks 7 and 8)

If at any time you would like to chat about the learning at Trinity, or you have any questions or concerns about your child's learning, please do not hesitate to see your child's teacher, Mrs Marinelli or myself.
