Morning train network closures in February

The Rail, Tram and Bus Union is planning to take industrial action involving a full train network closure from the first service until approximately 8am on Monday 12, Friday 16, Monday 19 and Friday 23 February. This will impact students who take the morning train service from Castlemaine to Bendigo.

Coaches will be operating to replace the regular morning train services; however, V/Line has advised passengers to seek alternative means of transport wherever possible to avoid potentially significant delays and overcrowding. Train services will progressively return from 8am but delays and cancellations are expected to continue across the day. The first morning train service to Bendigo will not depart Southern Cross until 9.05am.

V/Line encourages parents and students to check the V/Line website or mobile app for the latest service updates before travelling. If your child will be late to school on these days, please inform Absentees via the usual process. For more information, updates and temporary timetables, see the V/Line website.
