Bell Shakespeare Shorts Festival
We are absolutely thrilled to announce that the film written, produced and directed by Alfie Swann (Year 10), and performed by Raphael Hampartzoumian, Jesse Hardaker and Charlie Monks - Sonnet 73 - was announced winner of the highly coveted Creative Vision Award at the Bell Shakespeare Short Film Festival! Sonnet 73 was one of only 17 finalists nationwide - congratulations, Alfie, on this outstanding achievement!
HSC OnSTAGE Nominations
In more fantastic news, we would like to congratulate Reagan Lloyd, Skye Wisemen, Phoebe Hines, and Ana Swaite on their OnStage Nominations for HSC Drama. OnSTAGE is the annual exhibition of HSC Drama Performances and Projects that have been deemed exemplary by NESA.
Reagan has been nominated for her Individual Performance 'The Weight of Expectation', a self devised work based on Biff from 'Death of a Salesman' and the overwhelming desire to live up a parent's expectations. Skye has been nominated for her Individual Performance 'Boot', a heartbreaking exploration of a teenage girl who survived a tragic car crash.
In addition to our two performers, Phoebe Hines has had her Costume Design project nominated, a very clever modern interpretation of 'The Taming of the Shrew' inspired by the Karl Largerfeld years as designer for Chanel. And finally Ana Swait as been nominated for her script 'The Move', a heartwarming look at a family on their moving day as they leave the family home behind.
While ultimately neither has been selected for the final program, this nomination is truly outstanding. We are so proud of these students' achievements.
