WVC Fundraising for a Torres Strait Island flagpole

Wominjeka

The WVC are very excited to announce that children from Prep to Grade 5 (including grade 5) have designed, made and fired a clay tile with indigenous symbols during Art class. These tiles will be laid in our indigenous site , the dirt patch in the artificial grass area between the Junior Hall and main building.

The WVC have planned to put a plaque with our Acknowledgement to Country as well as the donated buddy bench.  This has been a culmination of two terms work and the WVC are so proud of their effort.

Here is where you can help us please. We are asking for $5 for each tile please. This money will help us to buy a flagpole and fly the Torres Strait Island flag. This will be situated at the front of the school with the Australian and Aboriginal flags.

If we have lots of tiles then we will be very thankful and a second place, around the tree near the bbq and Grade 4 building will be used to cement the tiles.

Please support the amazing efforts of these children.

A Compass message will come out this week asking for $5 and your permission to use the tile.

Thank you so much
