Visual Arts

Congratulations to all of the students who entered artwork and photography into last weekend’s Art Show!

A special congratulations to our winners!

I was thrilled to see such a great variety of art. Everyone that entered should be very proud of their efforts, well done!

Students in 5/6 have spent the last few weeks exploring the uses of Gelli plates and different printmaking techniques.

Last week we took oil pastel rubbings and gel plate prints of our collograph insects.

There were quite a few variables and challenges involved in the gel plate print task, but there were some excellent results none the less.

Students in 3/4  loved cracking out the paints and giving their masks a splash of colour last week.

We have one more week to go before they are finished - adding patterns, outlines and details.

Students in 1/2 have spent several sessions completing their Flower Power mixed media artworks.

They have combined printing, patternwork and drawing to create their finished pieces.

Foundation students completed their work on Mr Seahorse last week.

Students firstly viewed the picture storybook Mr Seahorse; learning about how father seahorses and a range of other sea creatures look after their eggs.

Students made a colourful seahorse using paint slicks; printed a bubbly background and used printed papers for kelp.
