SHERRY JOHNSTONE ART WORKSHOPS - YEAR 3/4

The Year ¾ students have been lucky enough to engage in two workshops in the past fortnight with local artist Sherry Johnstone. Sherry shared two books with the students with themes of being your true self, the things that make us unique and respecting everyone's differences. This week's book was the dreamtime story of 'How the Birds Got Their Colours'. Students then had the opportunity to make their own birds, choosing their unique colours and patterns in the process. All students thoroughly enjoyed working with Sherry throughout these workshops. Thank you to Sherry for sharing her knowledge and skills with our students. Check out some of the amazing art works that the students have created.

YEAR 1 - SHOE LACE INCURSION

Last week the Year 1 students had a visit from Chris who runs the Ascent Shoe Lace Lessons. The lessons provide students with the opportunity to learn how to tie their own show laces. This is yet another important skill for these students to learn as many children at this age are transitioning from velcroe to lace shoes. Over the school holidays it would be great if parents/carers can continue to practice with your children. Thank you Mr Williams for organising.

JAPANESE SPORTS DAY

Last Friday Mr Papadopoulos held the very popular Japanese Sports Day. There was a lot of fun had by all students across the day. It finished off with a closing ceremony in the gym where the winning house was announced and individual prizes awarded. Well done to all who was involved in making the day happen and to Mr Papadopoulos for organising.
