Meet the 2024 Teacher

On Tuesday the 12th of December we have the final stage of our ‘Step Up’ program where students will meet their 2024 classmates and teacher.  A lot of time and effort goes in to making balanced classes with parent requests and teacher knowledge of students taken into consideration.  We will also be welcoming our 2024 Preps into their Meet the Teacher session on Tuesday afternoon.  An exciting time for these students as they begin their education at Croydon Hills.

Summer Holidays 

As this is my last newsletter article for the year, I would like to take the opportunity to wish our families a safe and restful break.

Whilst Christmas and the new year can be a busy time for families one of the best things you can do for your child’s learning is to keep them reading.  Even 15 minutes a day makes a difference and can help them avoid the ‘Summer Holidays Learning Slump’.  Putting time aside to read each day allows your child a break after a busy day.  Whilst it’s important to discuss the text by asking questions and talking about tricky words they may encounter, nothing beats just losing yourself in a good book. 

If you would like some appropriate reading material for your child over the Summer holidays, please contact your child’s teacher.  You are more than welcome to borrow some texts from the school.
