End of Year Celebrations and Assemblies.

In addition to the end-of-year assembly where we will farewell our departing students, don’t forget tomorrow’s Celebration Assembly with a special OSHC Dance Club performance.

This week our Juniors kick-started our end-of-year fun days with their Sports Expo.  Head to Compass or read the learning level’s Friyay Update to check which days your children have as special days.

Christmas Concert

On Tuesday evening the school hosted its annual Christmas Concert with over 3000 people in attendance.  The highlights were a plenty with an Indonesian rendition of We Wish you a Merry Christmas, Ed Sheeran’s Bad Habits as a Christmas parody, sing-alongs, and the always popular staff number!

Thank you to our Performing Arts teachers Brodie Sainsbury-King and Amana Temple for leading the evening, the team from Maroondah City Church for their sound and tech support, our staff for giving up their own family time, and the families for joining in!

What’s more, a huge congratulations to the students for their performances!

CHAPS Deliver Again - Big Time!

Following on from last week’s newsletter I would like to acknowledge the sensational efforts of CHAPS, delivering time and again for the school community.

The Parents’ Association held a BBQ at Tuesday evening’s carols with the money raised from the BBQ taking the team’s fundraising efforts to over $50,000 for the calendar year. This phenomenal effort allows the school to continually enhance the students’ and community’s experiences.  As previously shared the funds raised this year will be going into the installation of the synthetic sports field on the Middle School oval (expected completion March 2024).

Next year’s fundraising has been allocated to the Stadium’s Ninja Warrior and Sensory Playspace.

Well done Danielle and team!

2024 Classes and School Structure

Next Tuesday students will ‘step up’ and meet their 2024 staff members.  As shared in last week’s newsletter, despite the teacher shortage in the educational system our school is fortunate to have an extremely stable staffing profile next year.  Please see below for the school’s 2024 staffing profile.

DET Gifts, Benefits and Hospitality

'Thanks is enough' is the Department’s desired standard when responding to offers of gifts benefits and hospitality.

In saying that the Department and Croydon Hills Primary School fully understood that families may wish to show their gratitude with a ‘Gift of Appreciation’. If you are considering acknowledging our staff can I please request that you support our adherence to DET Policy and not donate cash vouchers (debit cards). NB: non-cash vouchers are permitted ie: a voucher for a specific retailer, provided it cannot be converted to cash.

For more please see the Department’s Gifts and Benefits Policy
