It has been a fantastic way to the end the year for the Grade 5’s and 6’s as they learned about VEXX and got to decorate their own canvas shoe. Inspired by Instagram artist VEXX who is famous for drawing his doodles on many different objects such as cars, buildings and shoes, the students were very excited to learn that they would be taking home their very own shoe with their unique designs on it. 

They spent a couple of weeks practising their doodles on a collaboration artwork and then it was straight to the shoe using Posca paint pens. The students had free choice as to how they painted their shoes, some going for abstract patterns and others drawing cute little flowers, people, rainbows and a lot more! 

Every student was engaged from start to finish and are looking forward to putting them on display at home. Here are the grade 5 classes with their shoes and some close ups of these magnificent shoes:
