Jayden’s Karate Triumph: A Lesson in Perseverance and Sportsmanship

On a chilly Sunday morning, 15th June, Jayden showcased outstanding skill and determination at the Victoria Karate League (VKL) tournament, bringing home the gold medal in the Elite division!

Beyond the victory, what truly makes us proud is Jayden’s unwavering respect for his fellow competitors. Whether winning or losing, he consistently demonstrates true sportsmanship—bowing sincerely, congratulating opponents, and remaining humble. Last year, though he didn’t take gold, he showed grace in defeat and never gave up. This year’s triumph is a testament to his perseverance and dedication.

Jayden’s journey reminds us all that success comes not just from winning but from the character we build along the way. There is still room to grow, and we look forward to seeing him continue to push forward with humility and respect.

Debating Success at DAV Round 4

On Wednesday 18th June, five talented Doncaster Secondary College students represented our school at Round 4 of the DAV (Debaters Association of Victoria) inter-school debating competition, held at Tintern Grammar.

Isabelle Veveers, Rachel Thomas, Sienna Margarejo, and Arabella Wiseman did an outstanding job debating the topic: “Should students be allowed to listen to music during exams and assessments?” This was a secret topic round, meaning the team had just one hour to prepare—yet they rose to the challenge with confidence and skill.

Congratulations to the team for their strong performance and compelling arguments. We wish them all the best as they prepare for their next debate!
