âAll this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.â â 2 Corinthians 5:18 (NIV)
Â
As we reflect on National Reconciliation Week and its 2025 theme, "Now More Than Ever", we are reminded that reconciliation is not just a national goal â it is a Gospel calling.
Â
Through Jesus, God has shown us the ultimate example of reconciliation: healing what was broken, restoring what was lost, and bridging the divide between humanity and Himself. In this same spirit, we are called to be people who walk in love, justice, and truth â standing with our First Nations peoples and working together for healing and hope.
Â
"Now more than ever," we need courage to listen.
"Now more than ever," we need humility to learn.
"Now more than ever," we need faith to love boldly.
Â
At school and beyond, let us practice kindness, speak truth, and honour the stories of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. May our classrooms be places of respect and reconciliation, where every child is valued as made in the image of God.
Lord Jesus, thank You for reconciling us to the Father through Your love. Teach us to be peacemakers and truth-tellers. Help us to listen deeply, walk humbly, and act justly. May we be a community that seeks healing and honours every voice â now more than ever. Amen.
