RECONCILIATION WEEK
During Reconciliation Week, our school community came together to celebrate and deepen our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. Students participated in meaningful activities including:
Â
🎨 Colouring Healing Hands – Each student decorated a handprint to represent healing, unity, and respect. These were displayed as a symbol of our shared commitment to reconciliation.
Â
📖 Reading Dreaming Stories – Classes explored traditional Dreaming stories, learning about the deep spiritual and cultural connections First Nations peoples have with Country.
Â
🔥 Commissioning of F.I.R.E Carriers – We proudly commissioned our new F.I.R.E (Friends Igniting Reconciliation through Education) Carriers: Leila, Will, Annabelle, Isaac, Hudson, and Azlyn. These students have pledged to lead with respect, promote reconciliation, and honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices in our school.
Together, these activities helped us reflect on the past, celebrate culture, and walk forward in unity.
