Steampunk Animal Art

Year 8 Visual Arts

In Visual Arts, students explored the artistic process to create a final artwork in the style of Steampunk Animal Art. They researched the key characteristics of Steampunk Art, drawing inspiration from the Victorian era, mechanical inventions and imaginative clockwork gadgets. Students also explored the broader influence of the Steampunk genre across creative areas like film, literature, music, theatre and visual arts. Throughout the unit, students worked through all six steps of the artistic process: brainstorming, writing an artistic statement, researching, developing ideas, producing a final piece and completing an evaluation. This assessment encouraged students to think creatively while deepening their understanding of how art is influenced by history and culture.
