Health - Semester 2

Upcoming Health Topics – Year 7 & 8

Next term, all Year 7 and 8 students will be participating in Health units focused on puberty, sexual health, and respectful relationships. These age-appropriate lessons are taught with care and in alignment with the Victorian Curriculum 2.0. 

Year 7 topics will include:

• Puberty and physical changes
• Hygiene and self-care
• Reproductive systems and menstruation
• Types of relationships (family, friendship, peer)
• Conflict resolution and communication

Year 8 topics will include:

• Consent and the law
• Identity, belonging, and self-respect
• Respectful and safe relationships
• Contraception and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI’s)
• Sexting, sextortion, and online safety
• Human reproduction and conception

These topics are important for helping young people build knowledge, confidence, and skills to make safe, respectful, and informed decisions as they navigate adolescence and relationships.
