Year 8 Rubicon Camp

Year 8 students had the opportunity to attend a 4 day, 3 night camp during June at Rubicon Outdoor School. During this immersive experience, students engaged in a variety of outdoor activities while enhancing their communication and leadership skills. Students focused on building their resilience and considering how they can build life long skills they can share with their peers.

Students participated in a range of activities such as; hiking, bushwalking, canoeing, caving, mountain biking, rock climbing and outdoor cooking. They were encouraged to get out of their comfort zones and try new things, as well as interact with new people.

Student Testimonial:

On the 10th to the 13th of June some of the year 8 students and some teachers participated in an exciting camp at Rubicon Outdoor school, where our main focus was building resilience.  We took part in adventurous activities like rafting, mountain biking, hiking, and some even got to try rock climbing and even touch snow! Each group did their activities together, showing great teamwork and collaboration while learning more about character strengths and surviving skills. We also enjoyed delicious food every day and had the chance to learn more about the Indigenous culture of the land we were on. Camp was a fun and unforgettable experience where we built resilience, worked as a team, challenged ourselves, enjoyed exciting activities, and made great memories with each other.
