Parents and students are reminded that full school uniform is required to be worn to school at all times. Staff will request that students remove any non-uniform jackets or jumpers once the students arrive to school.
Please pay particular attention to the following uniform expectations:
- Tracksuits pants must plain black, with no logos or patterns. These can only be worn on PE practical days.
- Headwear must be in school colours, with no logos or patterns
- Hoodies & Jackets without the College logo are not to be worn to school
- Tops underneath school polos or shirts must be black or white - wearing black with black and wearing white with white
- School shoes must be all black
Bikes and Scooters
Beginning Day 1 next term, students with bikes or scooters will be required to enter the school via the gates on Implexa Drive and Bethany Road next to the bike gates. Parents and students are reminded that all students riding bikes or scooters should be wearing a helmet.
Homework
Students in both Year 7 and 8 have been receiving homework throughout this term. Homework is set by classroom teachers and students are notified of homework requirements via their subject Teams. English and Maths homework is consistent throughout the year. 20 minutes of reading and the completion of their reading log for English and a weekly Mathspace task for Maths. Homework for other subjects varies depending on need.
Students are given a minimum of one week to submit any homework tasks. Students are responsible for ensuring they complete their homework tasks. If they do not have their own laptop, homework can be done on a phone, tablet or iPad. If none of these options are available at home, students should speak their teachers to arrange an alternative task.
If homework is not submitted by the due date on two occasions, a homework detention will be issued. We ask for parent support, to promote good study routines and responsibility. If you have any questions about your child's homework or detentions issued, you may contact their classroom teacher.
As we head into the holidays, it is important to note that no homework has been set for our students. The holidays are a chance for students to reset after a busy term. It is important that students are given the opportunities to have a break from studies and the cognitive load of term time.
