Energy Pyramids
Year 8 Science
This week, students in Year 8 explored the concept of energy pyramids as part of their science unit on ecosystems. Using visual models, students investigated how energy flows through different trophic levels—from producers at the base to top predators at the peak.
Through posters, hands-on activities and visual diagrams, students were able to see how energy decreases as it moves up each level of the pyramid. They also discussed the importance of producers, herbivores, carnivores, apex predators and decomposers in maintaining balance within an ecosystem.
The engaging photo displays captured some of the students’ creative interpretations of energy pyramids, and we are excited to share them with our school community.
