Dragon Boat Festival

To celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival, students participated in a variety of engaging activities in the Resource Centre. They took on chopstick challenges—picking up pom-poms, pasta, and even stones! They also competed in friendly rounds of Chinese Gomoku and had fun kicking shuttlecocks with their peers, a traditional Chinese game that promotes coordination and teamwork. One of the highlights was designing their own canvas pencil cases, where students incorporated dragon-themed artwork to honour the festival's origins. The event provided a wonderful opportunity for students to immerse themselves in Chinese culture through hands-on experiences, while also enjoying fun and collaboration.
At the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival, I played every game and also fought against Mr Tan in the chopstick challenge. I loved the day and hope it will happen again next year.

At the Resource Centre I participated in the pencil case designing, making my very own pencil case. I really enjoyed it.

I enjoyed the Dragon Boat Festival so much. It was so fun to design a pencil case with dragons and to keep it. I was waiting for the festival games for a whole week and as it was Tuesday I was beaming of excitement the entire day waiting for lunch. As it finally came, I came with a wonderful design of a dragon, resembling the beauty of the dragon boat festival. I also played the game Gomoku. It was very intense. I did eventually lose the game but the enjoyment was all that matter.

Today in the Chinese cultural activities, I learnt about the second most important festival -The Dragon Boat Festival. I tried the Gomoku game and decorated a pencil case with a dragon on it. I would say it was really fun. I really like learning about other cultures.

During the Dragon Boat Festival, there were a lot of games such as chopstick challenges, where we had to pick up pom pom balls, dry pasta and marbles. There was also activity where we can draw on little canvas bags. We also played Gomoku, a traditional Chinese game. My favourite was definitely the chopstick challenge. It was really fun and I hope we can do this again.

The Dragon Boat Festival held in out Resource Centre in our school not only helped celebrate and share Chinese culture, but also have fun and learning together. With there being many activities to participate in, it was nice to see everyone exchanging smiles with one another. Me and my friends had decided to use the dragon stencils to put on pencil cases. I really enjoyed this activity as we not only get all elements of Chinese culture to our pencil cases but also make the pencil case unique to us by adding our own special designs to it. The Dragon Boat Festival was an overall fun experience to share with my peers and teacher.

On 3/6, we participated in the Dragon Boat Festival activities that were held in the Resource Centre. They included chopstick challenges, shuttlecock kicking and Gomoku. There was pencil case decorating, which was super fun! It was a great way to connect with other people, as well as learn more about the Dragon Boat Festival, and I hope to do more activities like this in the future!

We participated in the Dragon Boat Festival activities that were held in the Resource Centre, in recognition of Chinese tradition. There were various activities we could all actively participate in, such as chopstick challenges, pencil case making, shuttlecock kicking and more fun activities to do! We all had a fun time there, and got to learn more about the Chinese culture. Overall it was a new and unique activity. I hope to have more activities like this in the future.
