Mother's Day High Tea

This year's Mother's Day Morning Tea on 10 May was a heartwarming celebration of the incredible women in our lives. We welcomed mums, grandmas, and other special carers to the college for a moving morning filled with reflection, connection, and delicious food.

Guests enjoyed a lovely reflection presented by the students, 'mum and me' photos, a special performance from our Orchestra, and a beautiful high tea served by our hospitality students.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this event so special. Your presence and participation made it a truly memorable occasion. We look forward to continuing this cherished tradition and celebrating the remarkable carers in our community.

Town Talks

Tuesday evening saw the first of our Town Talks at Kangaroo Valley. We thank the current and potential families of the Valley who so warmly welcomed Greg and engaged in terrific conversation about the College's activities, future direction, and other hot topics raised in the Q&A. We look forward to visiting Picton in August, followed by Bundanoon and Robertson later this year. Keep an eye on Need to Knows for booking links.

ANZAC Day

Chevalier College students gathered around the Southern Highlands region to commemorate ANZAC Day.

Thank you to everyone who participated today, we are proud of our students and the respect they showed on this important occasion.

We are forever grateful to the brave men and women who have served our country.

 Lest We Forget.

Vale Bruce McDiarmid (Class of 1955)

Bruce McDiarmid (Class of 1955) was one of our 'Pioneer' students and School Captain, and sadly passed away on 17 May.

Bruce came to Chevalier in 1951 as a boarder and he immediately made his mark as a capable student and sportsman. His leadership skills brought recognition by being appointed in 1955 as College Captain, 2IC of the Chevalier Cadets, captain of the 1st Xl and 1st XV Rugby. After leaving Chev Bruce established his credentials in the building industry and purchased Marksman Homes, a leading residential building company in the Illawarra. Bruce led a full life raising his family, building a successful business and supporting his local community in many ways.

In 2018 Bruce was awarded the 'Esprit du Chevalier' medal in recognition of living true msc values, giving generous support to his local community and also providing a Bursary here at Chevalier College.

We received the message below from one of his fellow students. It's a beautiful example of the impact that our student leaders have on those around them during their school years, and long after they have left the College:

'I was a first year boarder at Chevalier in 1955 when Bruce was School Captain and, it seemed, captain of everything. To me and the other weeds he was a superstar, a god, and a very warm and caring person. Whenever I met him in later years I found that these early impressions were not misplaced.'

We extend our condolences to Bruce's loved ones during this sad time.

Chevalier Past Students Sydney Networking Event

We warmly invite Chevalier Past Students to join us for an exclusive past student event in Sydney on Wednesday 26 June, 2024.

As past students who own businesses, lead organisations, and plan for the future, you are invited to hear from our Principal, Greg Miller, about the future-facing initiatives happening at Chev.

After listening to Greg, and reflecting on what you valued from your time at Chev, you will be encouraged to ask questions, make suggestions and provide feedback about what you look for in early career employees.

Join us for drinks and canapés from 5.30pm. Greg will commence his presentation at 6.00pm.
