RE & Wellbeing News

Dear Families,

WELLBEING NEWS

We have some new wellbeing initiatives at Sacred Heart  - one is introducing a new Award for student achievement at Sacred Heart. We are introducing an Achievement Award to recognise all the academic and subject based successes that our students achieve during their time at Sacred Heart.

We will continue to recognise students that have shown compassion and kindness towards others with the Good Samaritan Award.

Thank you to a number of parents who provided feedback on this topic- it is great to work together, continually improving the experience of our students.

Our Art Captains, Fortunato and Yianna are busily creating our certificates so towards the end of the term we will have a new award to recognise the achievements of our students.

The second initiative we have introduced is having a student or friend of the week in each class.  Members of the class will provide compliments and positive comments about the person which will get written down and displayed in the classroom for the week.

As a staff we will also have a staff member of the week as seen in the photo on Mark's page.

The goals are to improve relationships, to look for the good in people's actions and it will do great things for our wellbeing and mood! There is a huge amount of research on the positive impacts that come from receiving a compliment and just as many as when you give a compliment. There is a link in the image to an article on the benefits.

RE NEWS - SACRED HEART FEAST DAY

As Mark mentioned in his Principal section, next Friday 7th of June is the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. As it is our school's Feast Day, we have a number of things planned on the day for students to celebrate.

One is a student Talent Show on Friday afternoon - families are welcome to attend.

Have a great weekend.

Take Care,

Kate Harris
