PREPS: FITNESS AND TRACKING

Our Prep students are having a great time in PE, focusing on fitness and tracking as part of our Perceptual Motor Program. Fitness activities are intended to boast our students cardiovascular health, strength and agility, while tracking activities involve watching and following moving objects with our eyes in order to develop hand-eye coordination. The children are enjoying fun activities that improve these skills, and it’s awesome seeing their enthusiasm and progress!

FOREHAND STIKING IN GRADE 1/2

Our Grade 1/2 students are having a blast in PE learning about forehand strikes. They are practicing with balloons and soft balls to develop their striking skills. We are building up to playing games like "Balloon Tennis" and "Target Practice," which make learning this skill fun and engaging. These activities help improve their coordination and set them up with skills that can be applied to a range of games and sports in the future. It is great to see students being persistent and focussing on using the correct technique

BADMINTON WITH THE GRADE 5/6s

Our Grade 5 and 6 students are focusing on badminton in PE. They have started by developing their understanding of the game and learning fundamental skills like how to hold the racquet properly, and practicing forehand and backhand shots. The students are excited to develop their skills and are looking forward to playing this fun and active sport.

ESSENDON DISTRICT CROSS COUNTRY

On Tuesday, students from Grades 3 to 6 proudly represented our school at the Essendon District Cross Country event. Despite the miserable and wet start to the day, the weather cleared and the sun came out in time for our races. We are incredibly proud of the effort and sportsmanship shown by all our participants. It was especially great to see your students supporting, encouraging and cheering each other.

A special congratulations to Lachlan W, Zander V, and Jack P for their outstanding performance and for progressing to the Division stage. Well done to everyone who took part!
