Time to Reset

Term two started well, with students diving into a whirlwind of activities. Year nine camp, netball, AFL, debating, ANZAC Day March, Student Agency Team meetings, wheelbarrow race and cross-country, to name only a few – what a vibrant mix! Whether they’re sprinting across the field or passionately discussing topics in the classroom, these extracurricular pursuits are incredibly enriching. The number of students extending themselves beyond the classroom should be celebrated. Seeing success in every area of the College is just inspirational.  The student’s commitment and dedication show their ability to engage with our College values wholeheartedly and continue demonstrating high expectations.

As we engage in the Year 7 interviews for 2025, many families express their confidence in St Stephen’s high expectations with high support. To uphold these values, we've asked our students to reset and align with the College uniform and grooming guidelines. Teachers will be checking uniforms and grooming with every student lesson every day. This proactive approach ensures a positive learning environment where students are neat, presentable, and ready to learn, instilling confidence in our commitment to maintaining high standards.

Uniform and Grooming Expectations:

  • It is crucial to focus on uniform and grooming expectations. Consistent adherence to these standards contributes to a respectful and professional atmosphere.

  • Parents, your support at home is invaluable. Taking the time to ensure your child’s uniforms adhere to the policy is a crucial part of maintaining our high standards. Your involvement is a testament to our commitment to creating a respectful and professional atmosphere.

Specific Guidelines:

  • Skirt Length: Reminding students about appropriate skirt length helps maintain a neat appearance.

  • Ironing Uniforms: Wrinkled uniforms can detract from the overall look, so it is essential to encourage your child to iron them.

  • Jewellery: The guidelines for jewellery are clear. Students can wear small earrings or fine neck chains with religious medals or crucifixes. Other visible body jewellery is not allowed.

  • Makeup: Makeup is reserved for special occasions, not daily school wear. This policy ensures a consistent and professional appearance. No mascara, false eyelashes, or acrylic nails.

By supporting these expectations, you’re creating a positive environment where students can focus on their studies. If parents and students work together, it will undoubtedly contribute to success. More information on uniforms and grooming can be found on our College website, the student’s SRB and in this newsletter. We appreciate the support from home.

Student Kiosk at Student Services
Student Kiosk at Student Services

With technology, Student Services has updated the students' sign-in and sign-out process using ALLE (Arrived Late Left Early). ALLE is an application that allows students to electronically sign in to school as a Late Arrival or sign out of school as a Left Early at the student kiosk at Student Services. Our administration staff then validates and processes the information

electronically, which syncs with our system. Students scan in using their Student Identification card.   Digitally linking it with the online attendance register streamlines the process and ensures accurate records.

To all our incredible parents and caregivers, thank you for your tireless efforts and unwavering support in shaping our College community. Your commitment to our students' success is commendable, and we appreciate everything you do.

Remember, communication is key! Being just a phone call or email away makes a significant difference. Whether celebrating achievements or addressing concerns, maintaining an open line of communication fosters a strong partnership between parents and the St Stephen’s staff.

Enjoy the last five weeks of Term Two.
