"Sports do not build character. They reveal it."
Heywood Broun
This past weekend saw the first home rugby game of the year with exceptional spirit and sportsmanship on display. Our 1st and 2nd XV teams not only secured well-deserved victories over St Aloysius' College, but they also demonstrated remarkable respect for their opponents. The dedication and conduct of our players across the age groups was commendable, reflecting the values we uphold both on and off the field.
The vibrant support from our spectators also played a crucial role in this success. Special thanks to our senior students for leading the rousing war cries that energised everyone present. I would also like to reiterate the advice of Jack Tink (Captain of Rugby) who spoke at last week’s student Gatho, encouraging students to get around all sporting fixtures and support students in all sports. I look forward to seeing plenty of positive participation and support around the grounds this weekend.
Kinross Wolaroi Supporters' Gear
As we continue to foster a strong sense of community and support for our co-curricular activities, I wish to address an important matter regarding the organisation of supporter gear for parents.
We kindly request that all initiatives related to supporter gear for parents be coordinated through the designated channels to ensure consistency and alignment with school policies. Specifically, we ask that any proposals for supporter gear be brought to the attention of the respective Co-curricular MIC (Master in Charge) and the Head of Co-curricular. Subsequently, all proposed supporter gear will be subject to review and approval by the school's uniform committee, which includes the Principal and Head of Senior School.
This process is essential to uphold the integrity of our school's image and ensure that all supporter gear reflects our values and standards. It also allows us to maintain consistency and fairness in our approach to co-curricular activities.
I am pleased to inform you that the school is currently in the process of ordering supporter rugby tops, caps, beanies, and scarves. These items are expected to be available for purchase at the start of Term 3. We encourage parents to await the official announcement and availability of these items through the uniform shop. By purchasing supporter gear through the designated channels, you are not only showing your support for our school but also contributing to the cohesion and spirit of our community.
Your cooperation in adhering to these guidelines is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions or concerns regarding supporter gear or any other co-curricular matters, please do not hesitate to contact the respective MIC or the Head of Co-curricular.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school's co-curricular programs. Together, we can continue to create memorable experiences and opportunities for our students.
