SRC 2024

Kicking off the term, we started with our first SRC meeting. We have been loving the input from our year 7 leaders and are confident they are adjusting well and loving being a part of the SRC. Lots of great points were raised and we started planning exciting things like another possible whole school event: ‘Battle of the Houses.’ Other fun activities may include trivia, or other house competitions.

SRC, with grateful help from Mrs Halpin, also helped celebrate Educational Support Staff Day with handwritten notes decoratively displayed for all our wonderful staff.

Planning is well under way for the second consecutive year of our school participating in the Push Up Challenge. A subgroup has already met with mainly Rafter house members and ambassadors for the cause as Rafter is leading the fundraiser this term.

Another sub-group formed from SRC, and continuing from last year, is one to review AToSS (Attitudes to School Survey) data. Together with Mr Ruff and volunteer staff we are investigating how to effectively implement ways to encourage students to discuss their ideas on improving classroom behaviour and the overall appeal of the school.

With semester one rapidly coming to an end, senior teachers have been most helpful and have been planning ways to maintain morale within the cohort. Some favoured activities highlighted include possible group study sessions and a celebratory BBQ.

All the best,

Your School Captains
