COMMUNITY SAUSAGE SIZZLE - WE NEED YOU!!!

We are excited to announce that Orchard Park Primary School will be participating in the upcoming community event hosted by our local IGA on Saturday, June 8th, from 11am to 4pm. As we come together to celebrate, we are seeking the support of parent volunteers to join us in making this day a memorable one.

We kindly request your assistance with our sausage sizzle, where your participation will not only add to the festive atmosphere but also contribute to the success of our school's involvement. It's a wonderful opportunity for us to bond as a community.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to IGA for their generous financial donation towards our school resources, which directly benefit our students. Their support is invaluable in enriching the educational experience of our children.

We hope you will consider joining us in this celebration and lending a helping hand. Please enter your details in the link below if you are interested.

NEW PLAYGROUND OPENS!!!

It seems like the process has taken an eternity, but we finally celebrated the opening of our new playground this week. The students have been absolutely loving the new space to play and explore, with traffic throughout all of the obstacles busier than the Monash Freeway in peak hour!!

The playground provides another inclusive space for all students to play and learn within. We are so grateful to be able to have this wonderful addition to our facilities now open and accessible for our whole school community.

PUFFING BILLY EXCURSION

On Monday, the 20th of May, the Year 2 students went on an excursion to Puffing Billy. Students started in Belgrave and caught the train to Emerald Lakeside. They also visited the museum. Students were able to experience multiple activities with a focus on storytelling, exploration of nature, cultural connection, adventure, and fun.

Puffing Billy continues to be a place where our students create such beautiful memories. This excursion created such a buzz of positivity amongst our Year 2 Learning Community and provided them with rich experiences that they have been able to draw upon in their learning back at school. A big thank you to the staff for organising this excursion and also to the parent helpers who attended.

STEM OPEN MORNING

A huge thank you to everyone who attended our first STEM day on Monday, the 27th of May 2024.

We were so proud to see our students stepping up to teach our parent community some of the activities they have been working on during STEM classes. They really were such incredible experts and scientists throughout the morning. A massive shout out also to Mr. Pattison for his organisation of the event and ensuring our students were well prepared to become STEM teachers for our parents!

We loved the enthusiasm of all the participants!🙂

KINDER VISIT

It was so exciting to have our first visit from the four-year-olds from Kurmboon Child and Family Centre. Our Student Excellence and Leadership group led our kinder students through some artwork as part of Reconciliation Week. The students had a blast and it was wonderful to see our students taking on such a caring role to ensure our kinder kids felt welcome and supported.

DIVISION CROSS COUNTRY

On Wednesday, the 29th of May, we had Harley, Jude, Alek, Remy, Holly, and Tahlia compete in the Cardinia Division Cross Country event.

We are super proud of you all for their efforts and how they represented OPPS in their races.

Congratulations to Remy who placed 5th in his race and will now progress to the Southern Metro Region event!
