From the Principal

Ms. Shannon Correll

To our wonderful school community,

I am writing to extend my heartfelt thanks for your warm congratulations on my recent appointment as Principal of Catholic Special Schools. It is with a mix of excitement and nostalgia that I share this news with you. In my new role, I will have the honor of overseeing two existing special schools while leading the development of a third. This is a wonderful opportunity for me to further my leadership journey in a field that has been a cornerstone of my career and passion.

While I look forward to this new chapter, I will deeply miss our school community. The bonds we have formed and the experiences we have shared will always hold a special place in my heart. My last day here will be June 28th, and I invite you all to join me for a celebratory Mass at 2 pm, followed by afternoon tea in the courtyard. It will be a chance to gather, reflect, and celebrate the wonderful moments we have had together.

Health and Wellbeing Reminder

I would also like to address a pressing concern we are currently facing. Recently, we have noticed an increasing number of students coming to school feeling unwell or having been ill. For the health and safety of everyone, please do not send your child to school if they are sick or showing symptoms of illness. If a child has vomited, they should not return to school for at least 24 hours. Our staff are also at risk of catching these illnesses, which makes it challenging to maintain a full, healthy team to support our students.

Punctuality Matters

Additionally, I want to remind everyone of the importance of punctuality. We have observed a significant number of students arriving late to school. Being late means your child is missing out on crucial learning opportunities. Please ensure your child arrives by 8:50 am to guarantee they receive the full benefits of their education.

Thank you once again for your support and understanding.

Yours in Peace Love and Learning,

Shannon Correll
