Performing Arts

Due to the curriculum day and Tim being on the Grade 6 camp, not all classes will have Performing Arts this week. A brief overview of the content for the week is below.

Prep

Exploring music and sounds to categorise whether they have a steady beat or no beat.

Grade 1

Exploring how sounds can ascend and descend in pitch and applying it to a musical version of snakes and ladders.

Grade 2

Exploring and playing melodies which have three notes.

Grade 3/4

Creating a song which has a Funk 'feel' using loops in Garageband. Students will then create a movement/dance piece to their song to show their understanding of 'feel'.

Grade 5

Students are continuing on their songwriting project; refining their idea, deciding on their chords and wr their lyrics.
