Sacrament of Reconciliation

Thank you to all the parents that supported their children during our Parent/Child Reconciliation Information evening. It was a wonderful night showcasing the students' learning supported by the guidance of Father Michael.

Congratulations to all the Year 3 children who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Friday, 2 May 2025. Ms Bilney, Mrs Richardson, and Father Michael commend you for your outstanding commitment to learning about this important sacrament of forgiveness. Reconciliation is a significant step in acknowledging times when we have made poor choices and need to say sorry in order to feel the blessing of forgiveness. Thank you to our wonderful parents that supported us on this journey.

Thank you to all the amazing grades that made cards for the Year 3’s that received the Sacrament of Reconciliation as well as the students that participated in this learning. It was so wonderful to receive your support and the amount of time and care that went into the cards was truly appreciated by the Year 3’s. THANK YOU!!

Sacred Heart Caritas Fund Raising

Well done to all of the Sacred Heart students who raised money through the many Social Justice and fun Lenten activities in Term 1. You all did such an amazing job! We are pleased to announce that the Sacred Heart families raised $304.60. WOW that is a lot of money!

We are now looking forward to our annual Walkathon to raise funds for the Catholic Care Mission on 30 May in the coming weeks. More information to follow in the coming weeks.

Lenten Social Justice - Toy Drive 2025  led by the Year 2’s

Thank you to all the Sacred Heart families and students who donated their pre-loved toys. The staff from ‘Little Assets’ were thrilled to receive your donations and happy to report that the children are loving the new additions to their play area. Leftover toys will be distributed to other early childhood centres in the Surry Hills area. Well done everyone!

Mother's Day Events

Thank you to the PA Executive and the Year 5/6 Parents for organising our Mother's Day stall last Wednesday. The children thoroughly enjoyed the shopping experience and the opportunity to choose the perfect gift for their mum or special ladies in their lives. It was also beautiful to have our Mum's and special ladies be able to make it into our classrooms on Thursday morning and also attend the Mother's Day Paraliturgy. Thanks to those Mum's who were able to stay on for a chat and Morning Tea afterwards.

2025 School Closure Days

As was communicated to families last year...

* Time in Lieu (TIL)

The new Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 (the Agreement) introduces a formal time in lieu (TIL) process for teachers. The Agreement provides that a principal may require a teacher to undertake work and attend a school activity outside the normal hours of attendance (i.e., in excess of the 38 hours or normal hours for a part-time teacher) and when this occurs, it will attract TIL.

Principals should prepare for the accrual and acquittal of TIL through their annual planning process. The timing of the acquittal of TIL is at the discretion of the principal, having regard to the operational needs of the school and causing the least disruption to the educational program of the school.

Principals may elect to acquit TIL through designating days during the year on which all staff and students are not required to attend school.
