Student Reporting
As previously communicated late last year, the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) have updated the English and Mathematics Curriculums to English 2.0 and Mathematics 2.0. Attached is a letter outlining the change to student reporting in Mathematics only. English reporting will remain the same.
Whole School Expectations UPDATE
Last Friday all students were updated with a change to the Whole School Expectations. Expectation 4 has been updated from 'Look after our school' to 'Take pride in our school'. There are a few reasons for this change.
One of these reasons is to ensure that ALL children wear the Sacred Heart Kew school uniform 'with pride', including wearing the correct Sacred Heart Kew school uniform items each day at school (see attached Bob Stewart Uniform List 2025 below).
Children in the correct Sacred Heart Kew school uniform will be receiving House points as our 'spot checks' occur over the next few weeks.
We ask families to please support us, encouraging your child(ren) to wear their full Sacred Heart Kew school uniform with pride.
In addition to the above, all students may start wearing their winter Uniform as the weather gets cooler. We will also extend the transition period, enabling children to either wear the summer or winter uniform, up until May 30. From Monday June 2 all children are required to wear their full winter school uniform.
Children are also reminded that nail polish is not permitted and only small sleeper earrings are to be worn.
We greatly appreciate your support with this.
Mandarin Day
Last Wednesday the students and the staff at Sacred Heart celebrated and embraced Chinese culture by engaging in a number of activities at our Mandarin Day. A huge thank you to Wendy Chen and Bei Chen for organising the day.
Chinese Dance Incursion
The Prep students participated in the Lantern Dance incursion.
The Year 1 students participated in the Golden Hoop Dance incursion.
The Year 2 students participated in the Ribbon Dance incursion.
The Year 4 students participated in the Lion Dance incursion.
The Senior students participated in the Kung Fu Fan Dance incursion.
Chinese Traditional Activities
Thank you to our Senior students for hosting the Chinese Traditional Activities. They did a fantastic job assisting the students from Prep to Year 4 in various games. These include chopstick races, spinning plates, diabolos and Chinese shuttlecocks.
Chinese Craft Activities
On the day, the students also created some beautiful crafts.
Thank you to our wonderful parents for organising, preparing and distributing the special lunch treats for the students. We are very grateful and lucky to have such a supportive community.
