Modern Choir

– Miss Maria & Miss Poppy

Interested students started rehearsing in March with two performances booked – one at each end of April. With no time to waste, we rehearsed hard and often. Students started off learning music at home and put it all together during (many) school rehearsals. Preparing four songs in six weeks is a big job, and students were keen, enthusiastic, and generous with their time throughout.

We performed at Y(our) Fest on Day One of the school holidays, and then again on the Anzac Day public holiday at the local commemoration ceremony. Thank-you to our school captains who presented a wreath on behalf of the PMPS community. We send our grateful thanks to all Choir Families because your support is what makes these performances possible. We are absolutely delighted with the level of commitment all choristers have shown.

As Term 2 begins, Modern Choir is in the process of selecting new music to add to our repertoire and will continue practicing weekly. Opportunities to perform are too much fun to miss out on, so we want to be ready!

"I am honoured to be in the choir and have lots fun singing with my friends. Y(our)Fest is a great festival because it's all about having fun and enjoying time with our friends. The Anzac Day performance was good because we were honouring the soldiers who fought in World War 1 and 2." – Ruby, Year 2 student

"The Modern Choir sang at Your Fest. I felt a little bit nervous but liked doing it. Our two songs were Fireworks and Believer." – Zoe, Year 2 student
