In Term 1, the Year 6 cohort took part in a space project.
In pairs, we created dioramas, posters, and found many more crafty ways to display our research. Each group was encouraged to do research on a planet of their choice. Working together, we researched details about the planet of choice, displayed the information in our projects however we wanted, and built or drew our planet. After we were finished, we displayed our projects in the gym and showed the younger students.
“The experience was truly out of this world, and something for future years to look forward to!” – Amira C, Year 6 student
"It was really cool teaching kids about space. My diorama was about Makemake, a dwarf planet. There are 8 planets and 5 dwarf planets." – Harry, Year 6 student
"My friend made a sun, and I liked seeing my buddy's project. There was also Jupiter, it looked really good!" – Amelia, Year 1 student
"There were all of the planets on everybody's projects and they weren't the same size. Some made them small and big. They all used different details." - Zachary, Year 1 student
"I learnt that there is something between two planets, but I forgot what it's called. I liked learning from the older kids, like the sun is a star." – Hamish, Year 1 student
