Grade 3 and 4

We Have Blast Off!!

We are now well into our unit on fractions, and the students are demonstrating a strong and insightful understanding of the concepts involved. Through explicit instruction, they have developed the ability to explain, represent, and interpret fractions in a variety of ways. As they progressed through the learning environment, their comprehension of improper fractions and mixed numbers deepened significantly. The journey has been both engaging and enjoyable, with students enthusiastically embracing the challenges presented to them.

Dance Workshop

A couple of weeks ago, we had a dance workshop. Students went for a quick session where they learnt to pop and lock it. Within 40 minutes, we had a routine to 'Another One Bites the Dust'. The whole school then shared their routine with each other, and we couldn't believe what they had achieved in such a small amount of time. This workshop was provided to us through a young leaders day, to encourage participation, fun, wellbeing and enjoyment through dance.

District Cross Country

Congratulations to all those students who made it to the District Cross Country. We had about 60 students representing ACPS. Ruffey Lake Park always delivers some tough hills to climb, but each student showed resilience, perseverance and ran their little hearts out.

Hooptime

Hooptime is a wonderful opportunity for all students to have a go. No matter what your ability and if you have played before or not, it is a fantastic day to be involved in. It was competitive, fun, and everyone just had a go. The sportsmanship and encouragement shown on the day, allowed everyone to have a great day out. A big thank you to the parents who coached and scored for the day. We really appreciate the support! Congratulations to everyone for a fun day and a special congratulations to our Future Star Girls on their Grand Final win.

Mother's Day

We hope all our wonderful mothers, grandmothers, carers, and special people enjoyed a truly memorable Mother’s Day! We marked the occasion with a lovely shared breakfast, and we trust the young ones treated you to some thoughtful treasures from the Mother’s Day Stall—hopefully, they even made it home in one piece! A heartfelt thank you to Jamie Noye and the incredible team of volunteers for organising both the breakfast and the stall—it was a fantastic way to celebrate the special people in our lives.

Camp

It is nearly time for Camp! Excitement and nerves are building, and we can't wait to get there. Please see Compass for camp information and payment. A reminder, if your child has any dietary requirements, please email the classroom teacher.

Please find below the packing list for the Camp.

We also ask that students DO NOT bring smart watches.

In the meantime, continue to share and talk about camp with your child.

  • Organise a couple of sleepovers with friends and family.

  • You can share the OEG (Outdoor Education Group) - Camp Jungai website with your child to get an idea of the types of things there and the surroundings - https://www.oeg.edu.au/camps/camp-jungai/ - Note: We do not do all the activities on the website.

                         Skala came to visit again

Last week, 4M had a very special visitor—Ms. M's dog, Skala, returned to the classroom! Skala settled right back into learning mode, joining in on the fun and soaking up all the attention (and plenty of belly rubs). The students absolutely loved having her back—it's safe to say she was the star pupil of the week!
