Celebrating the Wonderful Mothers at ACPS
Last Friday we kicked off the Mother’s Day celebrations with our Mother’s Day Breakfast, a special tradition at ACPS. The school yard was filled with conversation, smiles, and the delicious smell of breakfast as students and their families gathered to celebrate all the Mum’s in our community. Thank you to everyone who attended—it was great to see so many smiling faces to start the day. A special thank you to the parent volunteers who helped with setup, service, and pack-up—we couldn’t do it without you!
Later that day, classes visited our Mother’s Day Stall, excitedly hand selecting thoughtful gifts for their Mums. The general consensus from students was that the stall was filled with “Really Good Stuff” with some students also telling me that “the prices were really good value”. Those direct quotes tell me that yet again Jaime Noye has nailed the purchasing! We are really grateful to Jaime and her team of volunteers for running the stall and enabling our students to head into the weekend excited to give their gifts.
We hope all our ACPS Mothers, Grandmothers and Carers had a lovely Mother’s Day—you certainly deserve to feel celebrated and appreciated!
Education Support (ES) Staff Appreciation Day
Continuing the theme or celebration and appreciation, today is Education Support (ES) Staff Appreciation Day. The ES Staff of a school are often behind the scenes and not always on show to our students and broader community but work tirelessly to keep our school running and supporting our students to thrive. We have a fantastic team of ES Staff - Jo, Sharon, Melinda, Angela, Elissa, Shar, Briere and Hannah who help to create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all. On behalf of the entire school community, thank you for everything you do. Your care, commitment, and kindness do not go unnoticed.
Pre-Loved Toy and Book Fair – A Wonderful Community Effort!
We are thrilled to share the success of our recent Pre-Loved Toy and Book Fair! It was fantastic to see so many families getting involved, and the event was a great reminder of the generosity and community spirit that makes ACPS such a special place.
Thank you to everyone who played a part in making the fair such a success. To those who donated pre-loved toys and books—your contributions helped fill our tables with treasures and supported our focus on sustainability. To the team who coordinated the event, your time, organisation, and effort were huge and greatly appreciated. To the many families who came along to browse and purchase items, thank you for your support.
Together, we raised valuable funds that will go towards enhancing programs and resources for our students. It was a wonderful example of what we can achieve when we work together as a community.
District Cross Country
A big congratulations to all the students who competed in the recent District Cross Country event. The course was tough and the weather warm, but our students gave it their all, showing determination, resilience, and a true team spirit. From cheering on their peers to digging deep in their own races, every student represented ACPS with pride.
A special shoutout to our 9/10 Girls team, who will re-run their rescheduled race next week—we wish you the best of luck! And to the students who have qualified for the Division Cross Country next month, congratulations! We’re incredibly proud of your effort and achievement and will be cheering you on.

ACPS Thrive Day Bake Sale
Thank you for your generous support of Bake A Wish throughout Term 1. With your help, we've raised valuable funds for Make-A-Wish and brought joy to needy children — we’re so proud of what our school community has achieved.
As we begin Term 2, following our meeting with the JSC Year 3 and 4 students and hearing their ideas, we’re thrilled to introduce a new initiative: ACPS Thrive Day Bake Sales! This exciting event will be a fun way to strengthen our community spirit while raising funds for a special whole-school incursion or excursion at the end of the year.
Each grade will be able to host a bake stall during Term 2 and beyond. Our goal is to raise at least $300 per stall, and with your support, we’re confident we can make it happen.
Here’s how it works:
- Every grade has be assigned a Monday to run their bake sale.
- On your child’s date, we encourage families to bake and donate school-friendly treats, which can be dropped off at the canteen before school starts.
- The stall will open after assembly, around 3:15 PM, for students to purchase items during the after-school period.
- All proceeds will go directly towards a fun, whole-school experience to celebrate our students' achievements and the strength of our school community.
