⁠ TRANSITION INFORMATION EVENING:

The Grade 6 to Year 7 Transition Information Evening held last Monday was well attended. While students explored what life will be like at Kerang Technical High School in Year 7, parents and carers were informed about the broad range of subjects on offer, including Mathematics, Science, English, Woodwork, Metalwork, Physical Education, and Cooking, among others.

A key message of the evening was that KTHS is committed to supporting students of all learning abilities and to preparing them for their future pathways. Kerang Technical High School provides a variety of educational opportunities, including both academic and practical learning streams. Families were encouraged to begin thinking beyond Year 7, considering how the school can support student goals through to Years 11 and 12.

WINTER OF SUCCESS:

This Winter sports season not only showcased incredible athletic talent but also highlighted the growing spirit of participation and community among our students. Whether on the football field, soccer pitch, badminton court, shooting range, or netball court, our students demonstrated what it means to truly participate—not just in individual performance, but in camaraderie and school spirit. We are proud of how far our students have come, and we look forward to seeing how much further they can go. The icing was that some teams also excelled in their sports.

To all the students who participated, supported, and cheered—thank you for making this Winter sports season memorable!

KTHS AGRICULTURAL STUDENTS PLANT OATS WITH COMMUNITY SUPPORT:

The Agricultural students at KTHS, in partnership with the local community, have successfully planted the school farm out with oats. A huge thank you to local farmers Rohan Pay and Tim Short for generously providing the machinery, their time, and valuable expertise to help prepare the ground and sow the seed. Without their help it would not have happened. If you get a chance, head down to the farm and have a look as it is the best the farm has looked in a long time.

Special thanks also go to our agriculture teacher for co-ordinating the project, Krystal Grills.

Staff and students are now eagerly watching and waiting to see the fruits of their hard work emerge from the soil.

SCHOOL PHOTOS:

Last Thursday, school photographs were taken. This is an important event on the school calendar not only because it gives you a yearly picture of your child but also it forms the basis for your child’s student identity card. This card gives students access to a variety of services of which one of the most important is reduced travel fares.
