Foundation - Spotlight on Learning

Next week, Week 5 of Term 2, we will be learning and engaging in the following: 

Religious Education Focus

We are learning about Peace - What is it? What does it mean for us? How can we act on peace?

We are also learning about our New Pope. 

English Focus

We will be beginning learning Stage 3 sounds, starting with 'r' and 'y'. We will be building words using these sounds, such as yap, log, ran, van, yip, if. We will continue to read words with Stage 1 and Stage 2 sounds. Please check the reading pouch for the sound sheet every Monday.

Mathematics Focus

We are learning to partition numbers from 0-5. 

Social and Emotional Learning

We are learning about problem solving everyday challenges, including overcoming challenges when we lose a game, experience conflict or find something tricky. We will continue to utilise our emotional literacy to pinpoint our feelings, explain why we are feeling that way and navigate solutions. 

Auslan Focus

We are revising our Unit 3 signs, including the signs relating to school as well as using expression to add meaning to our signs. 

Reminders

No toys, stickers or pencil cases at school please. Students have everything they require for fun and learning supplied at school! If toys, stickers or other items are brought from home, teachers will remove the item and return it at the end of the day.

Please ensure you are packing your child brainfood each day!
