Today is the beginning of a week long celebration of Catholic Education in our diocese. St Thomas the Apostle belongs to a family of churches and school communities across the area of Gippsland, Victoria. It is called the Diocese of Sale. It spans from Cranbourne in the west to Orbost in the East.
All of the schools that belong to the diocese of Sale are coming together to celebrate Catholic education. On Wednesday 21st May (next week), some representatives of every school in Sale will pray together at a Mass, held at St Francis Xavier College. Bishop Greg will be there to preside at the special Mass.
At St Thomas the Apostle PS, our students will be creating their own prayers, in light of the Jubilee year theme, 'Pilgrims of Hope'. Students are exploring the theme of Pilgrims of Hope theme all year, but are particularly focused on how this theme interacts with their lives and will manifest in hundreds of prayers across the school!
